Why not do something with that voice?

Singing Lessons No Comments »

It is true to say that nearly everyone loves a bit of a sing song every now and again. Singing is good for boosting a bad mood so whether you can sing or not it is good for you.

Singing has been raised through the roof over the past five years or so through television shows such as Britain/America’s got talent as well as American Idol and the X-Factor. These shows to actually help to make stars, it is always worth giving it a go as it has proven to work. The most successful of all of these seems to have been Kelly Clarkson but it is also true to say that without these shows these singers would almost certainly still be unheard of today.

Of course many people will enjoy having a sing along with just themselves but many also love to sing with their friends too. So if you think you are actually half decent at singing why not buy one of those microphones, start singing and get ready to do something about it! There are many brands out there like Shure and AKG that are perfect for experienced or inexperienced singers and with the right sound system you could really get started.

If you are good then why not actually get out there to audition for one of these shows? It can b really tough to get a break if you can actually sing but if you really can chances are you will at least get through to the first round which is very useful as talent scouts will have front row seats to your performance. It never hurts to give it a go and if you really beliee you have the skills to become a professional singer then there should be no reason at all why you cannot do something about it,.

There is of course an alternative an that is to buy a video game like Lips for the Xbox 360 or even the Sony equivalan of Singstar if simply having a fun sing-a-long is your cup of tea.

The Ultimate Pure Pitch Method Review

Singing Lessons No Comments »

“Perfect Pitch” seems to be a hotly debated topic. Some claim that you can only be born with it, while others say it can be learned. No matter what side of this argument you may fall on, one thing is certain: the ability to call out pitch instantly upon hearing them is a tremendous benefit to any musician. In this Pure Pitch method review, I'll go over all the parts of this very popular course.

Created by music pro Ryan Cameron, the Pure Pitch Method is a step-by-step course designed to teach you how to master pitch recognition in under six weeks. I've got to commend Ryan for this course, I had difficulty as a musician for years before really learning how to recognize ptich. The funny thing is that I actually became a much better musician after mastering pitch recognition, and it improved my guitar playing immensely even though I wasn’t actually working on guitar technique.

What's actually in the Course? Great question. The course is broken down into two separate segments. The Manual is first, and it contains 120 pages of comprehensive lessons and important information. The sheer amount of information can be a bit much, but if you take it one day at a time it will be easy. In fact, each of the 39 lessons is built on the last one, so you will really do yourself a favor if you just take it one step at a time and learn each one completely before moving on.

The manual is actauly broken up into two sections, Note Recognition and Chord Recognition. The course discusses these each on their own and dives into a lot of detail on each.

There are 39 audio lessons that go along with the lesson in the manual. How much time will it take to finish? That really depends on how comfortable you are with your progress, but six weeks is a pretty good ballpark. I took 7 weeks to finish the course, but I was on vacation for 2 of those weeks. My brother finished it in 2 weeks.

Are there any drawbacks? Yes, two come to mind. The whole course (manual and audio) is only available in English, so if that's not a strong suit for you it may not be ideal. However, if you can read and understand my writing right now, you’ll be fine. The second thing is that the Manual comes as an eBook. I was a little disappointed at first, because I wanted to get a book in the mail.

However, I talked to their support and they do this for two reasons. One, you have lifetime access to any updates to the book, and two, you get instant access. I don’t know about you, but I like to get something in my hands as soon as possible after I buy it! The instant download gives you the ability access to whole course in seconds.

My Conclusion? I have gone through countless products and this one is a real winner. MyGuitarGuide.com readers have made their voice heard by giving it very high marks, and if you really don't like it there's a money back guarantee. The best part of the course, hands down, is that it really opens up your ears to new sounds and will make you a better musician. I strongly encourage you to take a look at the Pure Pitch Method Course if you want to be a better musician.

Teach Yourself To Sing

Singing Lessons No Comments »

I believe that deep inside, everyone would like to be able to sing better. Singing is such a basic and instinctive form of human expression. Not many people would say no to being able to express themselves more freely. I can’t think of anyone who wouldn’t benefit from that.

The other great thing about being able to sing well is that not many people can, so it helps you to stand out. So when you can sing well you can easily win the admiration and respect of people. I know nobody who’d not enjoy the high of thunderous applause after completing a live performance. Nothing can quite match up to that feeling. Feeling inspired? Then check out these online singing lessons.

It’s worth mentioning that people have different ambitions. Some strive for fame, driven by the desire to have 50 000 adoring fans cheering them on. Other folks aspire to be the lead singer of a local band. It’s amazing how many people dream of impressing the audience and judges in shows like American Idol. Who wouldn’t want to impress their friends with awesome karaoke skills? Of course even if you want to sing only for the sheer excitement of it, that’s reason enough to start learning to sing today.

The benefits in learning to sing are clear. While I can think of so many super reasons to learn to sing, I can’t think of a single drawback. Singing is good for the soul and apparently it’s good for your health too. Singing will also do wonders for your confidence. It’s an awesome way to express yourself and be better understood.

So tell me, what’s holding you back? Fear and doubt hold so many people back from becoming a better singer. If you don’t feel comfortable with your voice, you wouldn’t be the first. Sad that people are not aware just how enjoyable learning to sing is. Don’t be fooled into thinking that singing is a natural talent that can’t be learned. This is just so far from the truth.

Of course another very common excuse not to learn to sing is the expense of private singing tuition. This argument used to carry some weight, but not anymore. The thing is that now there is a huge assortment of affordable and high quality home study singing lessons available that money is no longer a real barrier to becoming a singer.

Here are just a few of the many advantages of learning to sing at home. First off, it’s just so much more affordable than any other way. You also have the advantage of being able to schedule your singing practice whenever it’s most convenient for you. Don’t forget that you can also access the singing lessons as often as you need to. Don’t forget that you can load the singing lessons onto a portable audio device and improve your singing on the move. But surely the greatest benefit of home study singing courses is that you get to learn from the very best vocal coaches.

So there you go. Now you have a bunch of great reasons to sing and you’ve no good reasons not to. Here are some online singing lessons to get you going.

Be a Star By Serving The Music, Sing Backup

Singing Lessons No Comments »

If you want to be center stage and star of the show, you cannot sing backup. You must sing behind the star, not overpower them. Backup singing is for those who can besatisfied playing a support role to the idol of the show.

This is a difficult skill to learn and is not much understood or appreciated. Similar to an instrumental accompanist, this style of singing requires that you listen very intently and be sensitive . Listening and reacting to the main singers phrasing, you must begin and end as they do. It may well be good to think of yourself as the singers shadow, never noticed but always present.

The best place on stage for a backup singer is wherever you can see the singers mouth at all times, this is the key. The job of backup singing is much harder if you can’t see the singers face. Learn to watch the singer at all times. The singer will change course or make a mistake and only if you are aware can you react. Keep your eyes on the singer. Be on the lookout for a simple nod of the head or gesture that may indicate a repeat or change of course.

As the singer goes, so must you. Blend to their phrasing. If you want to blend in the proper way, start your phrase just after the singer starts theirs. If you are not sure of how loud they are going to be, start your melody quietly and raise your level as the line develops. Do not pronounce consonants too hard at the start of a phrase. If you pronounce a consonant too hard and it is slightly off from the main singers line, it will be very noticeable and dissonant.

The same technique is to be applied to the ending of all lines as well. If you gradually ease off your melody as the singer does the same, you will not end after they do and cause much embarrassment to yourself and the band as a whole. If you follow these singing tips, watch, listen and blend in; you can be a professional backup singer in very short order.
